Swim Goals & Planning Program for 2019

Hello! My name is Angie Hoehne and I am a new master’s swim instructor at our wonderful club. My husband, Norbert, and I have been members here for the last 3 years. For those of you who don’t know me, I come from a different background than most swim instructors, so am able to help teach and guide you toward your goals in complimentary ways that vary slightly from the traditional swimmer styles. Learning to “swim well, then fast” as an adult required a more pragmatic way to articulate the mechanics and “feel of the water” to achieve desired results. As such, I communicate in ways that match how I learn as an adult, master’s swimmer.

I would like to invest my energy, thoughtful strategy, and time with each swimmer to help you achieve your particular swimming goals for 2019, and ask that you invest some thought and time to complete this questionnaire (below) so that I understand what you would like to see happen in 2019. Open communication will be the key to getting what you want out of our master’s swim sets. Please feel free to return this at a future master’s practice and/or e-mail it to me at [email protected].

PLAN: I coach swimming here at WAC at every Tuesday/Thursday evening at 6pm. Consistency together will allow us two sessions per week to form a master’s team rhythm and build together. I plan to build workouts for the duration of 2018 that help us tune-in on our current state performance levels so that we have documented metrics to compare with by the end of 2019. If you like to come to master’s swim only for the social, “zen”, and active recovery aspects, and prefer to not participate with goal-setting, then that’s great too! Just let me know, as I have some wonderful workouts planned for those folks too!

Again, communication is the key. I welcome your input, feedback, and active participation to make this a successful program that yields both the desired environment and achievements for everyone on our team! You may e-mail me anytime or chat with me before and after practice! I look forward to our swimming adventures together!

Kindest regards,
Angie Hoehne
