Enriching Your Experience in 2024As we journey through 2024, our steadfast commitment to our chosen word of the year, "enrich," remains unwavering. We're excited to share some recent enhancements aimed at enriching your experience here at the club. - New Furniture: We've introduced new tables and chairs in our social areas. Soon, you'll also see benches on the tennis courts and pickleball breezeway, and new chaise lounges at the pool area.
- Summer Comfort: We are in the process of ordering umbrellas for the courts, aiming to have them ready by summer. These will provide much-needed shade and comfort for your tennis and Pickleball matches.

Fitness UpdatesPool Lane ReservationsWith the warmer months coming, it is important that our swimmers adhere to their lane reservations. Even when there appears to be an open lane, it may be reserved, but not yet occupied. Please do not jump into an open lane until speaking with the front desk staff. When it is possible, they are happy to change or update reservation times/lanes to accommodate our members. Although it doesn't happen often, we do allow up to two swimmers per lane. When this occurs, we require a split lane swim. This means each swimmer remains on either the left or right side of the lane for the entire reservation. Les Mills Virtual ClassesOur virtual classes have been a welcome alternative to canceled classes. These are listed as "Les Mills Virtual" in the WAC app and are taught by world-renowned Les Mills certified trainers. Infrared Sauna ProtocolImportant Reminder: Please do not change any temperature settings on the Infrared sauna. If tampering continues, we may need to revert to a reservation system, limiting availability. Remember the infrared sauna is heating your core body more so than heating the air. For this reason, do not be concerned about the actual temperature reading in the sauna. Infrared Sauna Tips:- Set the temperature to 150ºF (we preset this temperature every morning).
- Use towels to absorb sweat on the bench and floor.
- Stay hydrated before, during, and after your session.
- Expect to start sweating after 15-20 minutes.
Recommended Session Time: 30-35 minutes (start with shorter sessions if needed). Thank you for being a valued member of Westlake Athletic Club. We look forward to enriching your experience throughout the year! |
