Tennis and Pickleball

Demolition of the Hitting Wall will begin Monday, July 25 around 8:00am. You will have access to the Pickleball courts (except courts 1, 2 & 3) but will be rerouted through the gates on Pickleball courts 4 and 5. Please do not go around the stanchions blocking the path. This will slow down the demolition work.

They will be working from 8:00am to 5:00pm for 3-4 days. Please be aware that it will be noisy during the demolition and the noise will also impact Tennis Courts 11 and 12 (similar to the noise you experience when we trim the trees)

Once the demolition is complete, the concrete will be poured to resurface courts 1, 2 and 3. It takes 4 weeks for the concrete to "set" before the lines can be painted. We're really excited about these additions and think you will be too!

Reminder of our Court Reservation Rules. Back-to-back court reservations cannot be made. There must be one 1/2 hour between a player's first reservation and their following one. This has been a club rule for at least the last 8 years. Unfortunately, our software doesn't prevent a reservation being made so we will begin canceling the later of 2 back-to-back reservations without notice to the players.

We are hosting a Junior USTA Tournament next weekend from July 30- August 1. There will be limited court availability in the afternoons on these days.

WAC Ladies Tennis Leagues. As we approach the Fall, I wanted to give an update on the Ladies Daytime Teams that will be playing out of WAC. We're returning to having all local leagues back in action and several are looking to add players and captains to their Roster.

If you're interested in playing in any of these ladies daytime leagues, please reach out to the Captains or contact me at [email protected]. Captains contact details are listed on the attached "Get Involved At WAC!". Please respond before July 24th as Rosters for these leagues need to be completed.

In addition, the Fall M/W USTA Season will be September 12th - December 11th. Registration for these teams begins in August. Please reach out to these Captains if you're interested in joining a USTA team.

Fitness & Swim

Water Fitness Classes added. We have added 2 new Water Fitness classes on Monday and Wednesday from 10:30am to 11:30am. Regularly scheduled Tuesday class will be a Hi Intensity class and is not recommended for beginner students. The class will take place in lanes 2 through 6. Lane 1 will remain open for lap swimming.

If a student from the Water Fit class reserves lane 1 during the class time, it will be canceled by the front desk. It is important that we have the correct number of members registered for these classes so we know when we should add classes and how well the instructor is doing based on the number of members enrolled.

Miscellaneous

Please use your member portal to make reservations for swim lanes, courts and classes. If you are still having problems getting into your portal. Please call the Front Desk to make an appointment. When too many calls are coming into the Front Desk, we are unable to assist members at the club and move them through the check-in process.

"No show" fees for pool, court and class reservations. We are seeing far too many "no shows" for reservations. If it continues at this level, we will begin charging $20 "no show" fees for any missed appointments that are not canceled prior to the reservation time. I prefer not to start these fees and hope members will begin thinking about the impact to other members when reservations are not canceled.
