March Newsletter 2024

What's Happening @ WAC?
03.13.2024

It's hard to believe we're already in March of the new year! As we transition into spring, there's a buzz of activity around the club, with exciting developments and plans underway to enhance your WAC experience.

Firstly, we're focused on bolstering our infrastructure to ensure your safety and comfort. We're repairing the fences around the court, installing security cameras, and patching up the courts after damage caused by the recent unprecedented rains. Your safety and enjoyment are important to us, and these improvements reflect our commitment to maintaining a top-notch facility.

In addition to these essential upgrades, we're thrilled to announce that we've placed an order for  new furniture around the pool area, as well as benches for the tennis courts and the breezeway by the pickleball courts. While there's a bit of a wait for delivery—expected in May—we're confident that these additions will elevate your relaxation and enjoyment of our facilities.

We're also exploring ways to enhance your outdoor experience. I've ordered a sample umbrella to test on the tennis courts, with the aim of finalizing an order to have them installed before the summer heat kicks in. Shade and comfort are key priorities, and we're committed to ensuring your comfort on and off the court.

As we embrace the spirit of a new year, we've adopted the theme of "GATHER." Our goal is to foster a sense of community and togetherness within our WAC family. The new furniture is just the beginning of our efforts to create a welcoming environment for all members.

Chris has been hard at work developing exciting new tennis programs, including the Friday Night Tournament Circuit and the eagerly anticipated Club Championship. And let's not forget the Men's 45 Hard Court Tournament—an annual highlight on our club calendar!

Meanwhile, Miguel and his team are ALWAYS busy creating fun activities and themes to  bring the Pickleball community together. See below for upcoming March events—they're not to be missed!

Here's to a fantastic year ahead, filled with camaraderie, competition, and plenty of fun!

Fitness

Infrared Sauna & Red Light Therapy Update

Please refrain from changing any settings on the sauna controls. The temperature is carefully set at the recommended level, and it should not exceed 150 degrees Fahrenheit. It's crucial to maintain this temperature range for the optimal functioning of our infrared sauna.

It's important to note that infrared saunas work differently than traditional Finnish saunas. They operate best within the temperature range of 115 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit, providing the desired therapeutic benefits and comfort for our members.

Your cooperation in respecting these temperature guidelines ensures that everyone can enjoy a safe and effective sauna experience.

Cell Phone Use at the Club

To ensure a pleasant experience for all members, we kindly request that cell phone conversations be avoided in the indoor and outdoor gyms, as well as when using the massage chairs. Even in the social areas, we ask that you use earbuds for phone calls and refrain from using your phone's speaker function to chat. Additionally, please maintain a normal speaking tone in all areas of the club.

We understand the importance of staying connected, which is why we encourage you to take any personal calls to designated social areas or outside the club premises. Being mindful of fellow members who are either focusing on their fitness routines or seeking relaxation is crucial to fostering a harmonious environment for everyone.

Your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines is greatly appreciated and contributes to the overall enjoyment of our club facilities by all members. Thank you for your understanding and support in creating a positive and respectful community within our club.
