Junior Team Tennis (JTT)
Coordinator: Christa Nonnemaker
Junior Team Tennis (JTT) is a great program for juniors of all ages and takes place in Spring and Fall. Juniors compete on a WAC team against other clubs on Sunday afternoons. Teams include 10u, 12u, 14u, and 18u divisions. 18u division is Boys Only in Fall and Girls Only in Spring due to CIF rules. Team practices take place on Saturday afternoons for one hour during an 8 week session.
JTT is for players just getting started in tennis competition but also for players with tournament rankings. Players should be comfortable with scoring in singles and doubles, court positioning and be able to maintain consistent rallies and to have some mastery of their serve. However, JTT teams are competitive situations with an Order of Strength that determines the match line-up order. There are four singles lines and two doubles lines for every match. The strongest players play singles. Those who aren’t as strong play doubles. Players, however, are part of a team and captains may use their discretion to determine where players play.
Fall season begins in September and Spring season begins in March. New players need to attend an assessment at WAC before registering for a team. JTT is overseen by the Ventura County Junior Team Tennis program which is part of USTA.

Junior League/Junior Development League
Coordinator: Brooke Gabbey
Junior League is for advanced beginners through Intermediate players who would like more match play experience. Junior League offers one hour of practice followed by one hour of match play on Saturdays for 10u and 14u players. Junior League has 8 week sessions, four times a year—Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. During the off-season of JTT in the Winter and Summer, Junior League is a great option to work on improving their competitive match play skills. The matches are between other WAC players and held at WAC. Teaching pros lead the practices and are at the matches to provide guidance and instruction. For beginner players, there is Junior League Development for 7u and 10u which utilizes orange and green dot balls.
